I was an emotional wreck, pretending to be happy but privately crying every day. What I wanted wasn’t responsible, I told myself, it was frivolous, and I felt guilty just thinking about it.
To make matters worse, no matter how hard I tried, my business was getting me further and further in debt, causing me more stress and anxiety rather than helping me to feel fulfilled. I didn’t just feel like I failure, I WAS a failure.
I was a disappointment and a burden to my family. A leech. I hated my life as it was. I despised my day job and felt undervalued and unappreciated both at work and at home.
My only escape was art, and I couldn’t even enjoy that because it was putting my family in debt, forcing me to hide my spending on new art supplies out of guilt and embarrassment. I was a fake, and I was tired of pretending. My family argued all the time, and I yelled way too often. I didn’t appreciate what I had because I was so focused on the scarcity.
At one of my turnaround sessions with Scott, he put into words feelings and thoughts that I was ignoring and burying. I realized, “Wow, I am in a dark hole. I feel worthless and have no idea how to get out of this.” Then he gave me a chance to improve my situation.
I was able to incorporate good habits I had tried in the past but never continued for longer than a week, and make those activities part of my everyday life – activities like daily hypnosis meditations. They are no longer a chore or something I need to struggle to remember to do. I look forward to them. And as Scott promised, they have improved my outlook, confidence and success in life.
Besides feeling and acting more confident, I was sincerely more content with my life. I became more able to accept what I had control over - my attitude and response to situations - and let go of trying to control other people’s reactions, or other things that were completely out of my control.
I became much more accepting. I noticed the behaviour of my kids change in a positive way.
There is now much less yelling in my house, less fighting and resistance, more I love you’s just because, and less guilt. Even the relationship dynamic between my husband and I changed. Instead of talking about what we don’t want, we now spend more time talking about what we do want, or about the positive things that happened in the day.
I conducted my very first intuitive painting workshop with a guided meditation for entrepreneurs to connect with their vision and business at its core. It was magical. I have Integrity Choices to thank for that opportunity, and for pushing me to take action and control of an event. Although there were a few bumps in the road, it was a beautiful event, and I now feel able to take on the next event with total confidence.”

I was two months away from bankruptcy and almost divorced. I truly could not understand why it was all happening to me.
Being an inexperienced entrepreneur, I was jumping from one business course to another, reading tons of books on business and self-development, joining different business groups, spending a lot of money yet not getting the results.
It got to the point where nothing was working for me, and I had only one thing that kept me going, my business. I could let myself down, but I couldn't let others down, my family, my employees, teachers, students, and parents. Over 600 people were standing behind me; people who trusted me and counted on me.
As I was witnessing my wife's frustrations and desperation, I started to blame her for all our failures! I became aggressive and made her responsible for how I felt. I ultimately ended up pushing her away, thinking that if I took her out of the equation, everything would fall into place. I was wrong.
Not only did it not improve anything, my decision led to my complete failure as a human being, business owner, husband, and father.
My sessions with Sameena brought me back to life and were like oxygen to me. It was hard at first to adjust to the language they used, and to look at myself honestly. I had always buried self-examination under more work.
In our counseling sessions, they introduced me to concepts like awakening, which is a very accurate term because I had been asleep in many ways, mainly how to think properly so I could achieve my true potential. That's where the next step came - turning around.
That's what it takes sometimes - a complete 180-degree turn. Not a slight adjustment, not a 'tweak', not a comfortable and minor change - a total overhaul. A turnaround. I kept what worked and turned around what didn't, and that made all the difference.
I can't say enough about how much Sameena and Scott helped me clarify my own needs and find myself.
My business is taking off, and my relationships with friends, family, and employees have improved dramatically.
I am still working on my relationship with my wife and am seeing positive changes. I stopped blaming everyone around me for all my failures."

I had a passion for helping people and families going through the battles of addiction but I just could not monetize it because at the time, I had similar issues around the subject of money as Sameena did.
I was mainly talking to clients on the phone and didn’t feel justified in charging them. But after Scott overhauled the engine of my mind, my first client – a family I performed an intervention for, which included driving their daughter to a detox centre - paid me $3500 with no hesitation. In fact, they were so appreciative of the work I did with them, they thought $3500 was too low of a price, so they bought me a new iPhone too!
I have completely shifted my direction and the value I put on myself thanks to Scott’s life-transforming consultation and coaching. Closing my very first deal for $3500 made it REAL. I am now set up with a whole new and effective business plan, where everything before was left to chance.
Scott helped me see my own self-worth and the value of what I have to offer the world. Thanks to Scott’s consultation and the follow-up work I did with Sameena, I am now in the intervention business."

Some months I didn't make enough to cover the rent, which left me with no choice but to reach into my savings. I started this business against my husband’s advice and didn’t want it to come between us. However, struggling to pay rent had put a lot of pressure on our relationship.
I had been following Sameena on her 1111 platform at the time, and when I saw all the work Scott has been doing, I decided to set up an appointment with him through Sameena.
During these sessions, Scott guided me through a process of discovery. Together we searched for the burden that was holding me back.
But Scott didn't leave me there, with a problem that I had no clue what to do about. He made sure that I overcame these challenges. I am very intuitive person, but I was afraid to trust my feelings and kept questioning myself. I needed to talk to someone who would help me clarify, whether I was on the right path, and if not, which one of my ideas would be the best to focus on.
I also needed to build confidence in my intuition. I needed reassurance that what I was doing was gonna work out. It was that spiritual connection to business. Not being afraid to follow my instincts.
Scott advised me to play my music before work. The goal was to find something pleasing for the soul, something that would make me feel good, which would lead to better focus and more motivation. The advice I got to play my music just before I start working has been phenomenal. When I do that the day is set up. It just flows.
Scott helped me get really clear about how I was selling, how I was creating, and wasting all my creative energy on things that weren’t gonna work. He helped me realize that I had all the parts to become successful. I just wasn’t putting them into the right order.
When the Christmas Holidays ended, the inner voice was telling me I should contact my past clients, but I didn’t listen to it. After the first session with Scott, it became clear to me that contacting them was exactly what I needed to do.
Scott also helped me see if I made all the money I needed for this month in twenty days, then all the extra is gonna go to the next month, and I’ll be getting ahead. Just looking at that makes me feel so much more relaxed and less stressed out over my finances.
The number of appointments had increased, and clients started asking for follow-ups without me having to mention it first. My financial situation had improved significantly. The following month, after the last session with Scott, the rent money rolled in within the first twenty days. It was a great improvement compared to the previous months when I had no other option than digging into - already tight - personal savings.
Coming to work every morning and knowing I could enjoy doing what I loved without worrying about the money in the bank was a great turnaround. My relationship with money has improved where I no longer feel bad when getting paid for my services. I have learned to follow intuition, knowing that she can trust it. The “business sense” is part of me ,and being aware of it makes me feel more confident.
And most importantly, I was feeling more abundant, in other words, the constant 'fear I had around money' I noticed a shift where that fear around my finances did not feel as strong anymore. And I also gained confidence to trust my own instincts thanks to Scott's consultation/follow-up sessions and with him and Sameena working with me in the way they did"

Scott has Facilitated for Clients prior to Collaborating with Sameena.
"I've known Scott since 2006, and have hired Scott as a coach and business advisor many times, most recently to guide me in a delicate negotiation on a project at CTV. I am currently executive producing Income Property for RTR/HGTV and have sought Scott's advice on shifting the team culture and vision with my crew as the show expanded into its new one hour format.
Scott is an outstanding coach mostly because he is a fantastic listener, and hears the truth and opportunity in every situation. He's fearless in expressing his opinions and very committed that everyone who works with him gets the results they are after. He'll make for great TV. He's like a dog with a bone. Speaking from personal experience, once he sets his mind to his client achieving their goal, he won't let that client fail. He takes no prisoners!
He's a man of high integrity, great compassion and he's great fun to be around."

"Self harm is something I've struggled with my whole life, particularly with cutting or self mutilation. Even during my most rigorous 12 step recovery programs, it's never been something I've been able to master until I worked with Scott Gallagher.
I have kept my cutting a secret, from almost everyone, for most of my life. It's just one of many secrets I've had. And my experience of guilt, of seeing myself as wrong or selfish, I've been thinking that way for 10 years, and programming my mind to feel guilty because of it. But now I'm working at letting that go. I have already started to feel a change as I start exposing the secrets I've been keeping.
What struck me was how fast this process is, and how quickly it started working. Other recovery programs can take quite awhile, some of them years. But this happened right away."

HOW MY TEAM BECAME HAPPIER, HEALTHIER & MORE
PRODUCTIVE AT WORK AND IN THEIR PERSONAL LIVES
At the start of 2013, Nelro Services was lacking in organization. To put it bluntly, I wasn’t happy coming in to work, and neither were my staff. I found myself "blowing up" on a daily basis and our collective employee stress level was through the roof!
We were in need of a strong leader and I simply had enough. Quite simply, we couldn't continue down the path we were on. We were in desperate need of an overhaul.
In my search for a solution that would transform my business, I sought out Scott Gallagher, an expert management consultant from Toronto, Ontario. I'd been familiar with Scott's work because I had watched videos of him and delivering his programs and coaching
The process got underway with a series of one-on-one meetings between Scott and my staff...
A relaxed and confidential interview process with my key staff uncovered the frank, honest opinions and feedback that Scott required before determining how we could and would follow through in moving forward. Our company had an underlying culture of uncertainty; some feared they would lose their jobs.
But Scott has something special; a quality that enabled him to earn their trust. He placed the staff at ease; they were able to move beyond that fear to provide candid opinions and views.
As a result of these interviews, Scott was able to identify a number of different problem areas that we as an organization were just too close to see, let alone solve:
First, Scott showed us how we had placed certain staff in roles that didn't match their talents or desires. He also advised us that we were paying higher-than-typical base salaries to our sales staff which resulted in a dysfunctional commission structure that failed in motivating our people to produce results.
Second, Scott showed us that there was a definite lack of communication among sales staff and little – if any – teamwork and collaboration taking place.
What's more, this culture of individualism and independence led to another problem that we had failed to realize. It's a problem that, according to Scott, is very characteristic of a contractor-type arrangement: If one staff member left the company, he or she could take all their clients with them!
Scott offered up real, workable solutions. He worked us through the process of establishing a team culture; one of connectivity and interactivity. Furthermore, as part of his program, he worked with us to create -- and implement -- an accountability system that would help us to overcome our independent, un-team-like mentality.
Now, things not only get done but they get done joyfully and consistently. I make a request and it gets completed with integrity; I no longer feel like I'm shouting into the wind.
The results have been incredible and very tangible. In less then 90 days since Scott came in to perform an overhaul, we've quoted more than $1.6 million in new business projects and realized an additional $500,000 of new revenue – revenue that my accountant has tracked and determined to be the direct result of actions that were taken as part of Scott's overhaul. This is above and beyond our baseline and to date it reflects a 100% increase beyond our projections!
That was two years ago. This past 2014 was a record year for us 7.8 million in sales. The morning meetings and consistent communication have made the staff happier and the company as a whole. I thank Scott for some of the great ideas that have helped me manage my team and the company at a whole new level. With the way things keep improving, my sales forecast for 2015 is $8 million.
In the world of business, it’s rare to meet people who are truly passionate about their craft; where it's a life mission. Scott is one of these rare gems. He is an absolute master and genius when it comes to team-building and causing leadership in a way that brings financial abundance as a natural consequence of putting the happiness and well-being of each and every employee first."
-Trevor Vey, the general manager at Nelro Services
It’s one thing to do brief intervention counseling one-on-one, but it’s another thing to have Scott come in and set up a system of accountability so kids know exactly what to do.
Here are some of the results; one student who had stolen a pair of shoes from the local mall went back to the mall and returned the shoes.
Another student confessed to his Uncle that he had been stealing his liquor for many months. The Uncle stated he was proud of his nephew for confessing this and ended up attending an AA meeting with him as a result.
There were many students that told their parents they were repeatedly lying to them about substance use.
Five students returned at the end of the Healthy Habits group to focus on quitting smoking.
Students became more honest with themselves and others.
Scott’s program was the highlight of the school year for me! Thank you again for this very worthwhile program!!!"

I'm not sure if you remember me, but I was one of the students that took part in your workshop after your presentation at Englehart High School. I just wanted to let you know that you were my inspiration in making the decisions that I did to help me get back on track. You helped me a lot. Thanks a lot for everything once again.

We had 16 people participate in Scott’s sessions. I brought Scott in for team building to get workers in the office to try to work together. We weren’t getting a lot of cooperation sometimes. After Scott left it seemed like there was more of a team.
The gossiping stopped, and everyone was working better together. We were more accountable to the groups we belonged to. Some people also quit some unwanted habits they had.
I think this would work well if we did this for the whole community. Our community is made of different groups… There’s first nation, Metis, and other people working here as well.
There are a lot of problems in the community and I think it would help for Scott to come. I’m hoping we could get him back for the whole community!"

Your raw honesty was just so refreshing. I don't want to say your talk was life changing because that would sound over the top; but the truth is, it was for me. In all my years, I have never encountered anyone who had the degree of addiction problems that you have had to struggle with. To hear you be so honest about your past was just so touching. And I loved what you shared about making amends. I think we all carry anxieties and baggage about things we could have done differently, and your section on making amends, I felt could become a tool - not only in my work in the anxiety clinic, but for me personally.
As a matter of fact, even though I don't have any addiction problems, I was so inspired by what happened to you that I decided to make an amends list for myself. I'm really quite enthusiastic about what you are doing. I would come and hear you again, anytime!"

... All the kids apologized for things they've done that they felt bad about. A few of them apologized to their parents for stealing money from them. And the kids felt freed from doing this.
...Some of the kids that took on the bonus commitment of doing daily school homework actually came to me for help with their homework which was amazing. They would come to me after school or during lunch and I would help them.
...You have a major gift of discernment, being able to attract only those kids that were really committed - and your ability to cause those that really weren't there for the right reasons to make the right choice and not stay with us for the day (if they were not going to follow through on the full 28 day program) - was incredible. And all those that stayed for the full 3.5 hour seminar/workshop, stuck with the whole 4 week follow-up program. If I had to weed them out myself, there is no way I could have had that discernment that you have. I would have probably encouraged some of the wrong kids to stay and be in the group and I would have had problems. It might not have worked.
...Scott, you demonstrated to us a lot of positive affirmation. Even when you were weeding people out of the group, you were affirming peoples’ value. It wasn't anything artificial. It was real and authentic. You really cared like these kids have value. The kids could sense – they could feel - that they were valued and mattered, that there was intrinsic value to them.
Your program is a process and a journey. It's not like everyone has all their problems solved, but all the kids that participated are better off than they were before you came."
- Corey Copeland, Student Success Teacher, Kirkland Lake High School, Kirkland Lake, Ontario
We have kids thanking their mom for dinner or for doing the laundry for the first time ever. Most of these kids are not used to thanking anyone. They just take for granted that everything will be done for them. They’re learning something here that will serve them well their whole lives.
Sometimes I’m really frustrated with whatever is going on in my life and one of my student buddies from the program will call me and ask me what I’m happy about right now? And I really have to change my whole way of thinking, even when I’m in the middle of something really negative. It’s been a real learning experience for me."
- Joanne Carter, Transition Place, Meadowlake Saskatchewan, (At-Risk School)
After the 4 weeks were finished, the kids in the program wanted to continue it on their own. Within 90 days, every single one of these kids had tapered off to the point that none of them were doing drugs or smoking anymore. One student who was addicted to the internet and video games drastically reduced how much time he spends online.
Each and every student who joined the on-going group meetings had noticeable behaviour changes; for example, higher self esteem, regular attendance, more friends and a much clearer head upon returning to school Monday mornings.
The results we got were so remarkable we asked Scott to come back again later in the same school year!
We engaged different kids and we had a different adult partner involved, but the results were just as impressive.
We continue to appreciate Scott’s work and have used his articles to promote awareness and professional development with our staff."

We wanted to thank you again for coming to Guelph and making your presentation, it is such an important issue today both in people's personal lives as well as the job front. As we do with every presentation, we provided evaluation sheets to our members and we wanted to share the information we received. We know you planned to speak directly to members for feedback but hope the comments below will assure you that your presentation was very well received. Many people provided duplicate responses which tells us you communicated your overall message very well. The only recommendation was a request for more examples of how to help workers.
91% of attendees found the topic interesting and enjoyed the format of your presentation. 93% said your presentation was very informative. These are excellent returns--the members really--the members really liked your presentation. Direct comments:

I agree that the original intention of the 12 step movement has shifted and is not as effective as it once was. Your willingness to look at yourself and follow the program as it was originally designed shows that you are someone who is willing to move outside of your comfort zone.
You not only talked about going back and making restitution, but you drew the connection of the importance of making amends - that so long as there are events in the past that the addict feels guilty or bad about, they are not in integrity, which may be a major cause in relapse. I also appreciated the way you distinguished the type of drinkers/abusers whom harm reduction methods could work, from those whom required total abstinence and why."
